The ILIRA Logo was created by a CITE student. We made a logo design contest and out of

Channel 28 a Cebu based TV channel covered
the inauguration and showed a 5 minute spot about the project
for 2 weeks

Inauguration
The project was inaugurated
in the presence of Congressman Edgar M. Chatto, Mayor Yul
Lopez, Principal Mario Garcia, Roy Zapata (CITE), representatives
of the Department for Education, representatives from the
German Development Service and the whole project team. 100s
of locals were joining that event, where the school prepared
a lot of dances and local traditions.

at CITE
2 Teachers and the administrator
of the internet cafe did a 1 week administrators training
at CITE.

Installation Solar equipment
(part II)
3 CITE DTS students are helping
ANEC to install the remaing 8 solar panels and do the wiring.
After that we connected the inverter, filled the batteries
and did the final wiring. The 2 days work is under supervison
of Jun Sta. Ana and Jun Cortez from MATEC (Manila).

4 CITE DTS students are helping
ANEC to install the solar panels and do the wiring. The
3 days work is under supervison of Jun Sta. Ana from MATEC
(Manila).
We are still waiting for the inverter and
8 more panels. Due to heavy storm in Manila this equipment
will come 1 week delayed.

Arrival of
Solar equipment
The whole Island is exited.
Principal Mario Garcia and the barangay captains are helping
to bring the equipment from the pier to the school. Students
from Cabilao National Highschool are unoading the equipment.

delivered to the school. 2 additional computer and 1 printer
where donated from the congressman.

First Committee
Meeting
The committee is in place and
held the first meeting. Committee members are Mayor Yul Lopez
(LGU), Principal Mario Garcia (CNHS), Franz Baumann (Local
Tourism Board), 1 member form PTCA and the school treasurer.
(CITE and DED are only part time members and will drop out
after 1 year).

Infrastructure
in place
The LGU (local government unit)
built up in less than 3 month, the battery house, the computer
laboratory and the fencing for the solar panels.

Polaris Dive and Beach Resort in Cabilao with Mayor
Yul Lopez, Principal Mario Garcia, Roy Zapata (CITE), John
Sombero (CITE), Franz Baumann (local tourism board), Jens
Funk (DED) and 2 guys from ANEC (Affiliated Nonconventional
Energy Center)
